My Story

I have always loved to bake and was taught by my mum, an incredible cook, and who is affectionately known as “Sweet”. The time I spent with her in the kitchen ignited my passion and love of creating “sweet” treats.

I put my passion aside and qualified as a registered nurse and specialized in operating theatre techniques. This kept me busy for many years until my three beautiful babies arrived. These babies are all grown up and I needed to find something else to occupy my time.

With a push from my family and friends, I returned to the world of baking. I studied at the prestigious Silwood School of Cookery in Cape Town and qualified as a patisserie chef. I then studied further, exploring the creative side of cake decorating and I have since spent many hours honing my skills.

I fell in love with sugar flowers and find so much joy in using nature’s inspiration and colour palette to recreate something beautiful with which to spoil a special someone.

Through this journey I have also discovered my love of teaching and marvel at the incredible look on my students’ faces when they create something beautiful.
